Deporten a la Migra
Design by Marisol Ocampo, kickass organizer we met when she worked at St. Peters Housing Committee and who is now back in Mexico City continuing the fight there.

This design was first created for street posters and t-shirts for a march and vigil in the Mission District of San Francisco in September of 2004 organized by the Bay Area coalition, Deporten a la Migra (Deport INS/ICE). The slogan of the event was: "para conmemorar las muertes de todos los inmigrantes caidos en el intento por llegar a este país, para celebrar y continuar la lucha de todas las comunidades inmigrantes en este país [To commemorate the deaths of all the immigrants who have died in their intention to come to this country; to celebrate and continue the struggles of of all immigrant communities in this country.] The slogan, "deporten a la migra" has a similar ring and significance to latino immigrant communities as "f*** the police" has for african american communities-- each community must fight against state sanctioned violence on a daily basis.
